Silhoutte Lift

Steps Involved in IVF:

Procedure Description

The Silhouette Lift is a minimally invasive facelift technique designed to restore youthful contours to the face by lifting sagging skin, redefining the jawline, and softening wrinkles. Unlike traditional facelifts, which involve extensive surgery and prolonged recovery, the Silhouette Lift uses specialized sutures to lift and reposition tissues. The sutures, often made of biocompatible materials such as polylactic acid, are embedded with tiny cones that provide traction to lift and support sagging facial areas. This innovative approach has gained popularity among individuals seeking natural-looking results with minimal downtime.

During the procedure, a practitioner inserts the sutures into targeted areas of the face and scalp. These sutures are strategically positioned to lift sagging tissues, creating a subtle but noticeable rejuvenation effect. Over time, the biocompatible material in the sutures promotes collagen production, enhancing skin elasticity and firmness. This dual-action process makes the Silhouette Lift an attractive option for those experiencing early signs of aging but not yet ready for a full surgical facelift.

One of the key benefits of the Silhouette Lift is its ability to provide gradual, natural-looking improvements. The results are typically subtle yet significant, appealing to individuals who want to look refreshed without undergoing an overly dramatic transformation. This minimally invasive procedure is generally performed under local anesthesia, making it a convenient option for those with busy schedules or those who may be sensitive to general anesthesia.

Procedure Duration

The Silhouette Lift procedure is known for its relatively short duration and minimal downtime, especially compared to traditional facelift surgeries. Generally, the entire procedure takes about 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the areas treated and the extent of lifting required. Since the procedure is minimally invasive, patients can often resume light activities within a day or two. However, some basic recovery guidelines are essential to follow for optimal results and a smoother recovery experience.

In the initial recovery phase, patients may experience mild swelling, bruising, or tenderness around the treated areas. These side effects are typically mild and subside within a week. To ensure a smooth healing process, patients are advised to avoid strenuous activities, heavy lifting, and intense facial movements during the first week post-procedure. It’s common for the sutures to provide a lifting effect immediately after the procedure, though the full effect becomes more pronounced as collagen production increases over the following weeks.

Long-term recovery for the Silhouette Lift is minimal, with most patients returning to regular routines within a few days. Over the next few months, patients typically observe a continued improvement in skin elasticity and firmness as collagen production continues. While results vary by individual, the effects of the Silhouette Lift generally last between 18 months to 3 years, depending on lifestyle factors and the individual’s skin condition. For many, this gradual improvement adds to the natural appeal of the procedure, allowing for a seamless enhancement in appearance without the sudden change that can accompany more invasive treatments.

Benefits

  • Minimally Invasive: Requires only small incisions and local anesthesia, reducing the need for extensive recovery time.
  • Immediate Lifting Effect: Patients notice an immediate improvement in facial contours, with results that continue to improve over time.
  • Stimulates Collagen Production: The biocompatible sutures stimulate collagen, resulting in increased skin firmness and elasticity.
  • Natural-Looking Results: Provides a subtle, natural lift, avoiding the “overdone” look often associated with traditional facelifts.
  • Short Procedure Time: Typically completed within 45-90 minutes, making it a convenient option for busy individuals.

Risks & Considerations

  • Mild Swelling and Bruising: It’s common to experience temporary swelling and bruising around the treated areas. Most patients find these effects subside within a week but should be prepared for this during initial recovery.
  • Risk of Infection: As with any procedure involving incisions, there is a slight risk of infection. Patients are advised to follow post-procedure care instructions closely to reduce this risk.
  • Possibility of Asymmetry: Although rare, asymmetry in the lifting effect can occur. Choosing a skilled and experienced practitioner is essential to minimize this risk.
  • Temporary Sensitivity or Numbness: Some patients experience mild sensitivity or numbness in the treated areas, which generally resolves within a few weeks.
  • Not Permanent: The results of the Silhouette Lift are not permanent and typically last between 18 months and 3 years. Some patients may opt for a repeat procedure or explore additional treatments to maintain results.

How to Choose the Right Doctor and Hospital

Selecting the right doctor and hospital is crucial for a successful Silhouette Lift experience. Prospective patients should seek practitioners who are certified in aesthetic and cosmetic procedures, with specific experience in minimally invasive facelifts like the Silhouette Lift. It’s helpful to review before-and-after photos of previous patients and request testimonials to gauge the doctor’s skill level and consistency in achieving natural-looking results.

Additionally, the hospital or clinic should have a reputation for high-quality patient care and adherence to stringent hygiene standards. The facility’s accreditation and compliance with international healthcare standards are essential indicators of its commitment to safe and effective patient outcomes. For medical tourists, choosing a hospital with a dedicated international patient team can further enhance the experience, providing necessary support and guidance throughout the treatment process.

Frequently Asked Questions

What actually happens during hyperstimulation of the ovaries?

The patient will take injectable FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) for eight to eleven days, depending on how long the follicles take to mature. This hormone is produced naturally in a woman’s body causing one egg to develop per cycle. Taking the injectable FSH causes several follicles to develop at once, at approximately the same rate. The development is monitored with vaginal ultrasounds and following the patient’s levels of estradiol and progesterone. FSH brand names include Repronex, Follistim, Menopur, Gonal-F and Bravelle. The patient injects herself daily.

What happens during egg retrieval?

When the follicles have developed enough to be harvested, the patient attends an appointment  where she is anesthetized and prepared for the procedure. Next, the doctor uses an ultrasound probe to guide a needle through the vaginal wall and into the follicle of the ovary. The thin needle draws the follicle fluid, which is then examined by an embryologist to find the eggs. The whole process takes about 20 minutes.

What happens to the eggs?

In the next step, the harvested eggs are then fertilized. If the sperm from the potential father, or in some cases, anonymous donor, has normal functionality, the eggs and sperm are placed together in a dish with a nutrient fluid, then incubated overnight to fertilize normally. If the sperm functionality is suboptimal, an embryologist uses Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection to inject a single sperm into a single egg with an extremely precise glass needle.  Once fertilization is complete, the embryos are assessed and prepared to be transferred to the patient’s uterus.

How are the embryos transferred back to the uterus?

The doctor and the patient will discuss the number of embryos to be transferred. The number of successfully fertilized eggs usually determines the number of eggs to be placed in the uterus. Embryos are transferred to the uterus with transabdominal ultrasound guidance. This process does not require anesthesia, but it can cause minor cervical or uterine discomfort. Following transfer, the patient is advised to take at least one days bed rest and two or three additional days of rest, then 10 to 12 days later, two pregnancy tests are scheduled to confirm success. Once two positive tests are completed, an obstetrical ultrasound is ordered to show the sac, fetal pole, yolk sac and fetal heart rate.

Embryoscope©

Built into this technology there is a microscope with a powerful camera that allows the uninterrupted monitoring of the embryo during its first hours of life. In this way, we can keep a close eye on the embryo, from the moment when the oocyte is inseminated and begins to divide into smaller and smaller cells, until it can be transferred to the uterus.
