Called the Heart of Europe, Germany forms a vital link between Western Europe and the continental east, between the warmer south and the cool north. Germany is a land of low plains, upland hills and mountains. It stretches from the Alps in the south by forested central highlands to the north of the Baltic Sea. Germany is bordered by Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland, which makes it a great gateway to other tourism options.

Whether you are visiting for a surgical procedure or simply to enjoy a health spa, Germany’s iconic cities, great shopping and stunning architecture will amaze you. The country is a land of many possibilities, from relaxation and wellness to sports and fun and amazing historic scenes. Enchanting medieval villages and iconic castles and palaces are all along the picture perfect countryside.

Germany Medical Tourism Fame

Germany is a destination for patients seeking advanced medical technology, high standards, safety, and quick treatment. All German citizens have health coverage, resulting in a high hospital density, with twice as many hospitals per capita as the United States. The high hospital density results in shorter wait lists for treatment. Costs for medical treatment compete well with other developed European countries and are commonly 50% of those in the USA.

Germany is an attractive destination for patients from the Middle East. US citizens sometimes travel to Germany to seek treatments such as artificial cervical disc replacement, Bone marrow transplantation, Brain surgery, Cardiovascular, Colon surgery, Endoprothetics and ENT surgery.

Skilled medical consultants, outstanding university hospitals, community hospitals and private clinics in Germany ensure high quality patient service and make your visit as comfortable as possible.

Although located mostly at latitudes north of the United States-Canadian border and thus closer to the Arctic Circle than to the equator, Germany's climate is moderate and is generally without sustained periods of cold or heat. Northwestern and coastal Germany have a maritime climate caused by warm westerly winds from the North Sea; the climate is characterized by warm summers and mild cloudy winters. Farther inland, the climate is continental, marked by greater diurnal and seasonal variations in temperature, with warmer summers and colder winters.

During January, the coldest month, the average temperature is approximately 1.6°C in the north and about -2°C in the south. In July, the warmest month, the situation reverses, and it is cooler in the north than in the south. The northern coastal region has July temperatures averaging between 16°C and 18°C; at some locations in the south, the average is 19.4°C or slightly higher.

Visa / Entrance Requirements

As of July 2009 only the citizens of the non-EU/EEA/Swiss countries like USA, Canada, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mexico, Monaco or New Zealand do not need a visa for entry into the Schengen Area; note that they must not stay longer than three months in half a year and must not work while in the EU.
